Speakers Bureau and Orate Partnership
The Speakers Bureau of Howard University (SBHU) was established in 2013 to provide additional opportunities to showcase faculty research interests and expertise through both web-based and traditional lectures and seminars on a variety of platforms. In addition to the traditional opportunities, participants are available for online chats and webinars, as well as face-to-face lectures and seminars.
Orate is an online platform that facilitates finding, vetting, and booking public speakers. Its purpose is twofold:
- to make the task of finding quality speakers, with any size budget, quick and easy; and
- to assist speakers in more effectively marketing themselves, and getting them in front of the right audiences.
The SBHU-Orate agreement will provide additional exposure and revenue opportunities for Howard University faculty who are a part of SBHU and Orate. All faculty who are part of SBHU will have the option of signing on as speakers with Orate.
