Join the Howard University Graduate School at our upcoming Graduate Programs Fall Virtual Open House from Oct 31- Nov 9, 2023, to explore graduate degree programs across various fields, including the humanities and social sciences, public health, engineering, biomedical sciences, computer and data science, social and behavioral sciences, and more. Attend as many virtual Open House sessions as you’d like to find out which program is the best fit for you.

Meet virtually with current students from the graduate programs you are exploring and ask them all of your questions to get a glimpse of graduate student life. Have in-depth conversations with academic program directors who will share information about their respective programs, degree requirements, research opportunities, career resources and outcomes, and program support. Learn what makes you stand out as a competitive applicant. 

Virtual Open House Schedule

Each Open House session follows the schedule/times noted below. If you can't make an entire Open House session, register and drop in for a portion of the session (i.e., join the Graduate Student Panel from 4:45 - 5:30 PM or join the Breakout Session with academic directors from 5:30 - 6:30 PM):

Howard University Graduate School offers a limited number of University-sponsored, highly competitive assistantships (Bouchet, McNair, and Douglass awards**) to top applicants who apply by the early deadline of December 1, 2023. Learn about the components of a successful application to the University-sponsored competitive assistantships (to include tuition awards and stipends) for doctoral programs in the Graduate School.

Howard University Graduate School offers a limited number of University-sponsored highly competitive assistantships (McNair, Douglass, and Bouchet Graduate Assistantship Awards) to top applicants who apply by the early deadline. To be considered for this type of funding, your complete program application and your complete application for the McNair, Douglass, or Bouchet Award must be received by the early deadline of December 1, 2023.

Navigating the Grad School Application Process Workshop Series

These workshop sessions cover a wide range of topics to help prospective graduate students prepare strong and competitive applications. Participants will hear from a series of faculty, administrator, and student panels about the graduate school application process (what admissions committees are looking for, how to write a compelling statement of purpose, securing strong letters of recommendation, interview tips, and more). 

Undergraduate students and recent college graduates interested in pursuing a master’s or Ph.D., but not sure where or how to start, and students who would like support in navigating the graduate school application process.
