Morgan State University Welcomes Dr. Camonia R. Graham-Tutt as New Associate Dean of the School of Community Health and Policy
On February 13, 2026, Morgan State University proudly announced the appointment of Dr. Camonia R. Graham-Tutt as the new Associate Dean of the School of Community Health and Policy (SCHP). Bringing over 15 years of exceptional higher education leadership experience, Graham-Tutt steps into this critical role poised to advance the school's mission in community health education. Her appointment signifies a renewed commitment to academic excellence, student engagement, and robust institutional research at one of the nation's premier historically Black colleges and universities.
In her new capacity, Graham-Tutt will work closely alongside SCHP Dean Kim Dobson Sydnor to oversee a wide array of administrative affairs. Her core responsibilities include spearheading strategic planning and evaluation, driving the development of policies and procedures, and ensuring the successful execution of the school's overarching strategic plan. Beyond day-to-day administration, Graham-Tutt will collaborate extensively with SCHP Department Chairs. Through these partnerships, she aims to cultivate a culture of accountability and deep faculty engagement, support the strategic creation of innovative new degree programs, and foster an environment that aggressively promotes increased research productivity across the faculty.
Howard Professor Awarded Teaching Honor
Howard University professor Dr. Gerald Daniels been selected as the 2026 co-recipient (with Jadrian Wooten of Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University) of the Kenneth G. Elzinga Distinguished Teaching Award.
The Elzinga Award is presented each year by the Southern Economic Association® (SEA) to an individual, who has exhibited extraordinary talent in conveying economic concepts and demonstrated outstanding efforts that have enhanced teaching effectiveness. The award recognizes individuals who have developed innovative instructional methods, teach unusual courses that explore the boundaries of economics, implement interdisciplinary instruction that links economics with other disciplines, and/or have performed research on how to teach economics effectively or evaluate economic learning.
