Dr. Nikki M. Taylor, Professor, Department of History | For being elected as Fellow of the Royal Historical Society (United Kingdom). Founded in 1868, the Royal Historical Society is a learned society of that advances the scholarly studies of history. 

 

Dr. Karen Cook Bell, Wilson H. Elkins Professor of History at Bowie State University and Director of the Du Bois Center for the Study of the Black Experience, received a $60,000 National Endowment for the Humanities Faculty Award to support research and writing on her fifth book project, Black Resistance: Family, Gender, and Slave Politics in Denmark Vesey’s Conspiracy.
