Join us for an upcoming online information session to learn more about how you can approach each aspect of the application to distinguish yourself from other applicants. You'll learn more about funding opportunities and our graduate program offerings. You'll have the opportunity to ask questions about the admissions process. In addition, you may be eligible to receive an application fee waiver.
Statement Writing Workshop: The Structure of a Compelling Statement | Thu, Nov. 7, 2024 12:00 - 1:30 PM EST
Your statement of purpose is an opportunity to show the graduate admissions committee who you are, demonstrate your interest in a graduate program, and show how your professional goals and research interests align with the program. In this hands-on workshop, we'll share strategies for developing a well-written, compelling statement of purpose that clearly articulates why you’re a good fit for your chosen graduate program. We'll walk through the difference between the statement or purpose and the personal statement. Ready to write? We're here to help. Session attendees will receive a digital guide to writing a compelling statement.

Fall Virtual Open House for Graduate Programs
November 7-22
Join the Howard University Graduate School at our upcoming Graduate Programs Virtual Open House to explore graduate degree programs across various fields, including the humanities and social sciences, public health, engineering, biomedical sciences, computer and data science, social and behavioral sciences, and more. Meet virtually with current students from the graduate programs you are exploring and ask them questions to get a glimpse of graduate student life. Have in-depth conversations with academic program directors who will share information about their respective programs, degree requirements, research opportunities, career resources and outcomes, and program support. Learn what makes you stand out as a competitive applicant.
McNair, Douglass, and Bouchet Graduate Assistantships
Early Deadline: Dec. 2, 2024
Howard University Graduate School offers a limited number of University-sponsored highly competitive assistantships (McNair, Douglass, and Bouchet Graduate Assistantship Awards) to top applicants who apply by the early deadline. To be considered for this type of funding, your complete program application and your complete application for the McNair, Douglass, or Bouchet Award must be received by the early deadline of December 2, 2024.

Explore the historical legacy of Howard, our cutting-edge facilities, and discover the best spots on campus. The Office of Admissions at Howard (which is a separate office from the Graduate School) offers a few different alternatives for tours currently, including a group tour of campus, a virtual tour, a 360-view look at campus via the virtual panorama, and you're welcome to explore campus using their self-guided tour.
