You'll learn more about funding opportunities and our graduate program offerings. You'll have the opportunity to ask questions about the admissions process. In addition, you may be eligible to receive an application fee waiver.
Grad Application Workshops
Navigating the Grad School Application Process Workshop Series

These workshop sessions cover a wide range of topics to help prospective graduate students prepare strong and competitive applications. Participants will hear from a series of faculty, administrator, and student panels about the graduate school application process (what admissions committees are looking for, how to write a compelling statement of purpose, securing strong letters of recommendation, interview tips, and more).
Undergraduate students and recent college graduates interested in pursuing a master’s or Ph.D., but not sure where or how to start, and students who would like support in navigating the graduate school application process.

Graduate Programs Fall Virtual Open House

Join the Howard University Graduate School at our upcoming Graduate Programs Virtual Open House from Tue, Oct 31- Thu, Nov 9, 2023, to explore graduate degree programs across various fields, including the humanities and social sciences, public health, engineering, biomedical sciences, computer and data science, social and behavioral sciences, and more. Meet virtually with current students from the graduate programs you are exploring and ask them questions to get a glimpse of graduate student life. Have in-depth conversations with academic program directors who will share information about their respective programs, degree requirements, research opportunities, career resources and outcomes, and program support. Learn what makes you stand out as a competitive applicant.
McNair, Douglass, and Bouchet Graduate Assistantships
Early Deadline: Dec. 1, 2023
Howard University Graduate School offers a limited number of University-sponsored highly competitive assistantships (McNair, Douglass, and Bouchet Graduate Assistantship Awards) to top applicants who apply by the early deadline. To be considered for this type of funding, your complete program application and your complete application for the McNair, Douglass, or Bouchet Award must be received by the early deadline of December 1, 2023.

Campus Tours (In Person & Online)
Explore the historical legacy of Howard, our cutting-edge facilities, and discover the best spots on campus. The Office of Admissions at Howard (which is a separate office from the Graduate School) offers a few different alternatives for tours currently, including a group tour of campus, a virtual tour, a 360-view look at campus via the virtual panorama, and you're welcome to explore campus using their self-guided tour.

If you would like to arrange a personalized in-person or virtual info session for your group of college juniors or seniors, grad school-prep scholars, or McNair or STEM scholars interested in learning more about Howard University's Graduate School programs, please email gs.gradrecruitment@howard.edu. Due to staffing limitations, we are unfortunately unable to grant every request we receive. All requests must be made at least 3 weeks in advance.
