Professional Development Programming
We recognize that graduate students have different needs to thrive inside and outside the classroom. Howard’s Graduate School students can expect to experience extensive professional development opportunities: access to comprehensive research support services, networking events like our Doctoral Pathways Conference, grant writing and funding workshops that help our students win top national fellowships, thesis and dissertation writing boot camps, and graduate teaching assistant workshops.
The Graduate School strives to support holistic student success and offers a robust schedule of professional development programming, like our Graduate Success Series which supports students in strengthening their research productivity and academic progress. The Office of Graduate Student Affairs and the Office of Graduate Academic Affairs also works in coordination with offices and centers across campus, like the Center for Career and Professional Success, which regularly hosts employer networking events to help graduate students hone their skills as future researchers and scholars who will make an impact in their fields.
